I'm a New Zealand-based writer, speaker, editor and commentator. 

I spend my time writing, talking and thinking about food, healthy eating, nutrition, food culture, marketing and policy. Also: vintage dresses

I have extensive knowledge of modern media and consumer attitudes and headspace.

I was the founding editor (now editor-at-large) of Healthy Food Guide magazine. I'm proud to have been part of it becoming NZ's top-selling food magazine and a much loved and trusted brand. 

I founded the website for Cuisine magazine back when that was a new thing to do. And was that title's first web editor and a contributor to the print title. 

Apart from that I've had some interesting career interludes, including working on a couple of international yachting campaigns and writing about cars. 

I've won a few awards along the way, including Supreme Editor of the Year in 2009 at the NZ Magazine Awards. 

I'm a proud ambassador for Garden to Table, a wonderful programme to help kids learn how to grow, cook and share food. 

I'm currently President of Food writers NZ, the professional body for food communicators. 

I'm also on the Council of Directors for the True Health Initiative, a global coalition of health professionals dedicated to sharing what we know for sure about lifestyle and health. 

I'm available for writing, speaking and consulting and I am open to learning about any kind of interesting project or collaboration. I'd love to hear from you
